Pin Pad Terminal

Pin Pad
A secure device that allows for the scanning of cards and entry of PINs for debit transactions.

Key Benefits
-
In Canada debit transactions can only be processed through a certified device.

-A PIN pad can also be used to scan both debit and credit cards through their built in Magnetic Stripe reader.

-
A PIN pad is less expensive than a full point-of-sale terminal that you would need without an integrated solution.

Special Market Applications
Every retail POS system needs an easy way to process transactions.

Things to Consider
Consider renting one from your payment processing company rather than buying or leasing. There are many leasing and buying opportunities out there but most of them have hidden fees, monthly fees, customer service fees and/or terminal insurance fees. As an added benefit, if you have a problem with your payment processing services you only have to call one company.

When renting from a payment processing company the pin pad is configured properly, the payment processing company already has all the PIN pad serial numbers they need, and it can be exchanged when new technology arrives. For instance, credit cards in Canada will be moving to a new CHIP standard, any PIN pad without the capability to process this format will need to be replaced in the next couple of years.
